Chili is a plant belonging to the Solanaceae plant family. This spicy fruit crops are widely used as a spice in cuisines throughout the world.

These plant species are most often used include Capsicum annum, Capsicum frutescens, Capsicum Chinense, Capsicum pubescens, and Capsicum baccatum.

Chillies contain the chemical compound called capsaicin (8-methyl-N-vanillyl-6-nonenamide). In addition, also contained many compounds that are similar to capsaicin, called capsaicinoids. When eaten, the compounds capsaicinoids bind to receptors in the mouth and throat pain, causing a spicy flavor.

These receptors then send signals to the brain that say that something has eaten spicy. This signals the brain responds by increasing heart rate, increasing transpiration, and releases endorphins.

Red chili peppers contain large amounts of vitamin C, also contain carotene (pro-vitamin A). The content of both substances is not too high on the kind of yellow and green.

Many people say that chilli is bad for health. But that statement seems to have rectified. It also has health benefits for the body, such as:

a. Capsaicin, the ability to kill cancer cells in laboratory experiments on rats.
b. Recent studies indicate that capsaicin is able to lose weight in obese people.
c. Capsaicin is used to kill nerve cells in the pancreas of rats with diabetes type 1, 

    this allows the cells that produce insulin to start making insulin again.
d. Foods containing chilli can slow the process of occurrence of cardiovascular
    disease risk.
e. Considered capable of controlling microbial contamination in food.
f. Some studies suggest that capsaicin has a protective benefit of anti-infected
   gastric ulcer bacterium H. pylori
