Did you realize just how important it is to use all the tools at your disposal if you suffer from high blood pressure or heart problems. If you choose to rely only on modern medicine and prescribed drugs then you could be missing out on a wide range of options - all of them capable of improving your life and making you a healthier, fitter and happier person.
Now that we are all diet conscious in modern western society it's interesting to look back and see how things have changed over the last hundred years or so. I remember as a little boy being chased around the room with my grandmother holding a large spoon of cod liver oil for me each morning. I hated it and couldn't see the point - but it's now clear that marine oils and other oils rich in omega three or omega six fats can lower blood pressure, reduce stroke risk and improve the function of joints and skin.
These fish oil extracts seem to possess powerful anti inflammation properties and they act all over the body. Sure they can reduce blood pressure and help protect us from CVA or MI but there's a lot more too them than that. I've seen convincing reports of how they help too with arthritis, memory problems, depression and skin irritation problems like allergy or eczema.
How then do you decide which fish oil supplement to take? Do you choose the purified and simple oil concentrate in liquid form? Will a capsule be better for you? Even then there are issues about how often to take it and in what dose. Choices abound and it gets even more complex when you take account of the fact that there are several different marine oils to choose from.
Green lipped muscle extracted oils have been shown to be helpful in treating arthritis and there's a whole range of highly purified or extraction based marine oils on the shelves. You could stick too with good old fashioned cod liver oil - still available in those grandmother sized bottles from your childhood. Most of us end up with a capsule based product that we try to get in the habit of using daily.
